The Road Accident Fund (RAF) provides appropriate cover to all road users in South Africa, compensating persons injured as a result of a motor vehicle accident. The RAF was established solely for that purpose of the payment of compensation in accordance with the Road Accident Fund Act, 56 of 1996 for loss or damage wrongfully caused by the driving of motor vehicles.
